Testing rig

We have used the drop-off enclosure with flat steel plates for testing. Additional holder was assembled to support the weights. Several steel and aluminium weights were used for gradually applying load during testing.

Results

We have preformed two tests to determine and validate the strength of the drop-off mechanism. In both tests the mechanism broke when subjected to load of approx. 300 N (31,9 kg of weights including the holder).

Additional impact tests and fatigue tests have to be performed to fully validate the strength of the drop-off mechanism.
